BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Delta State’s Je'Marion Westbrook (player) and Trevecca Nazarene’s Fred Bailey (freshman) were recognized with Gulf South Conference Men’s Basketball Weekly Awards Presented by Athletic Solutions, following their performances between Feb. 23-March 1.
GSC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Je'Marion Westbrook, Sr., F, Delta State
Westbrook registered a double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds to help the Statesmen clinch the eighth and final seed in the GSC Men’s Basketball Championship. The senior forward shot 9-for-15 (.60) from the field and 5-for-9 (.56) from behind the arc in an 85-77 win over Mississippi College. His 27 points were the team-high and secured Delta State’s tournament spot. This is Westbrook’s first GSC Player of the Week award of his career.

GSC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Bailey averaged 21 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists as Trevecca Nazarene went 1-1 on the week. The rookie scored 25 points, his fourth 20+ point game of the season, in an 89-85 loss at Union. He also shot 62 percent (8-for-13) from the field for 17 points, while grabbing eight rebounds and adding seven assists in a 94-89 win over Christian Brothers. This is Bailey’s sixth GSC Freshman of the Week award of 2025-26 as he also earned it Nov. 18, Nov. 25, Jan. 6, Jan. 13 and Feb. 24.
