BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The second release of the 2026 Gulf South Conference Men’s Tennis Weekly Awards presented by Athletic Solutions recognized Delta State’s Valentin Greco, following his performances from Feb. 9-15.
 
GSC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Valentin Greco, Jr., Delta State 

• Helped the Statesmen go 3-1 to open the season with wins over Southeastern Oklahoma State, UT Dallas and UT Permian Basin.
• Defeated SEOSU’s Nolan Guerin (7-6, 6-0).
• Defeated UT Dallas’s Eddy Shteyn (6-1, 6-0)
• Defeated Western New Mexico’s Christoph Lund-Kuhl (6-3, 6-0).
• Defeated UT Permian Basin’s Nehal Naidoo (6-4, 6-3).
• Went 3-1 in doubles alongside Simon Ojeda.
  • Defeated SEOSU’s Benjamin Fracassi and Guerin (6-2).
  • Defeated UTD’s Benjamin Dubois and Matheus de Freitas Zanellato (6-3).
  • Defeated UTPB’s Andrew Hunsley and Lucas Nakasto (6-1).
