BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Union guard Olivia Lee (player) and Auburn Montgomery guard Carrington Jones (freshman) each were recognized with Gulf South Conference Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards presented by Truist following their performances from Feb. 10-16 of the 2024-25 season.
Player of the Week:
Olivia Lee, So., G, Union
Lee secured her first GSC Player of the Week honor this season after averaging 22.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, two assists, and a steal across two wins for Union. The sophomore began the week by dropping 21 points on 56 percent shooting while grabbing eight boards, dishing out three assists, and having both a steal and a block in a 91-76 win over West Alabama. She then followed this up, in just 18 minutes of playing time, against UAH with another strong showing in which she poured in 24 points, pulled down three boards, had an assist, and grabbed a steal in the 93-58 victory.

Freshman of the Week:
Carrington Jones, Fr., G, Auburn Montgomery
Jones collected her first-career GSC Freshman of the Week award after helping Auburn Montgomery to a thrilling win against Montevallo. The freshman had a career-high in points as she dropped 22 points on 71 percent shooting in the 62-58 win. She also grabbed five rebounds while securing a steal in the win.
