The Delta State men's soccer and Trevecca Nazarene women's soccer programs were named the recipients of the 2025 Gulf South Conference Fair Play Award.
Delta State was recognized after being booked a league-low 18 times with zero red cards. As a result, the Statesmen were the third-lowest carded teams in the NCAA Division II. Delta State also tallied 169, in 16 total matches. This the first time Delta State has won the award. Lee and Union were also considered.
Trevecca finished the season with a conference-low 112 fouls in 16 matches and were booked with just nine yellow cards and zero red cards. The Trojans are being recognized for the first-time ever after completing their second season as a member of the GSC. Lee and Valdosta State were also considered.
The GSC Soccer Fair Play Award is presented annually to the team that best portrays sportsmanship over the course of a full season. The three conference teams to have accumulated the fewest total cards—yellow and red combined—were nominated for the award. GSC coaches voted for their respective top choice from the three-team pool but could not vote for their own team. The team that received the most votes earned the award.
