BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Gulf South Conference announced Montevallo’s Derek Moore (player) and Montevallo’s Devon McKinnon (freshman) as its third men’s basketball weekly award winners of the 2025-26 season, following their performances from Nov. 24-30.

GSC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Derek Moore, Sr., F, Montevallo
Moore averaged 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, three assists and 4.5 steals to help the Falcons go 2-0 on the week. The senior had his first double-double of the season with 26 points and 10 rebounds in a 94-70 win over Fisk. He also recorded 19 points, while going 8-for-9 from the field, as well as five rebounds, five assists and seven steals in a 90-68 win over Spring Hill.

GSC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Devon McKinnon, Fr., G, Montevallo
McKinnon averaged 20 points, two rebounds, four assists and 2.5 steals as Montevallo picked up wins over Fisk and Spring Hill. The rookie knocked down 7-of-14 (.500) from the field for 22 points in a 94-70 win over Fisk. McKinnon also registered 18 points and four assists, while going a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line, in a 90-68 win over Spring Hill.
