The Gulf South Conference announced its ninth set of men’s soccer Player of the Week awards for performances based on matches from Oct. 27-Nov. 2.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tom Hooper, Sr., M, Trevecca Nazarene
- Recorded five points on the week to help Trevecca go 1-1 and clinch a spot in the GSC postseason.
- Tallied a brace in his two shots taken in a 4-0 win against Christian Brothers.
- Registered one assist and hit two shots on frame in the Trojan’s 2-2 draw against Union.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alvaro Pena, So., M, Mississippi College
- Played 180 minutes as Mississippi College went 2-0 and clinched the GSC regular season title.
- Helped the Choctaw backline allow only one goal in Montevallo’s five shots on goal.
- Scored the game-winning goal and had one assist in a 3-2 win at AUM.
