BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Gulf South Conference announced a partnership with Officially Human, whose mission is to “restore respect to game officials and recognize them as authorities on the fields and courts”.
“We appreciate the opportunity to team with Officially Human and look forward to collaborating on ways to help humanize and show our gratitude to our game officials,” said Matt Wilson, GSC Commissioner. “The mission to elevate sportsmanship and integrity across all levels is needed and one that the GSC and its members are committed to support. The role our game officials play is vital. Not only in the ability to have games, but in the safety and well-being of our student-athletes as well.”
Officially Human was developed by Brenda Hilton who brings over two decades of experience in collegiate officiating. Her career has seen her collaborate closely with sports officials across a broad spectrum from mid-major conferences to high-level Division I programs, gaining a deep understanding of the challenges and needs of officials at every level.

The GSC will provide its member institutions with resources created by Officially Human throughout the partnership. Videos and other informational items designed to help better educate and inform student-athletes, coaches and fans will be highlighted throughout the membership.

About the Gulf South Conference
The Gulf South Conference is a charter member of NCAA Division II and based in Birmingham, Ala. Formed in 1971, the GSC has established a tradition of excellence and leadership in the Division II landscape, celebrating over 50 national titles and more than 160 region championships.
