GSC Statement Regarding Member Realignment Announcements

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Gulf South Conference is aware of membership realignment impacting the conference and will continue to its member institutions and their goals. In more than five decades, the GSC has experienced similar periods of change, however, continues to be one of the premier conferences in Division II and an aspirational home for many institutions throughout the region.

Valdosta State University has been a valued member of the conference for 45 years making significant contributions throughout its membership. The institution leaves a lasting mark on the GSC and its history.

Since the 1996-97 academic year, Christian Brothers University has been a respected member of the Gulf South and has made an impact on the conference throughout its tenure.

With the support of the GSC Board of Directors, the conference continues its efforts to evaluate and identify potential membership opportunities. We remain committed to serving our member institutions, strengthening the conference, and building upon the tradition of excellence that has defined the Gulf South Conference for more than 50 years.
