BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Following the Gulf South Conference winter championships, Lee University is atop the overall standings in the 2022-23 GSC All-Sports Trophy.
After being in third-place following the Fall, the Flames climbed two spots and now lead the conference with 77.875 points, highlighted by a fourth consecutive conference title for women's indoor track & field while women's basketball captured a share of the GSC regular-season crown.
Mississippi College, the previous overall leader, checked in at No. 2 with 72.250 points, while West Florida slipped one spot to No. 3 with 65.125 points. Alabama Huntsville (56.750) and Montevallo (54.375) flip-flopped positions from the Fall to round out the top five.
In addition, the conference announced the men's and women's specific standings. On the women's side, West Florida led the way with 40.125 points, and were followed by Lee (39.750) and Mississippi College (32.625). Meanwhile, the Lee topped the men's standings with 35.125 points, followed by Mississippi College (29.125) and West Alabama (28.375).
The Overall All-Sports Trophy counts all sports that a school sponsors, with its regular-season finish in the standings counting towards 75 percent of the final rank a tournament finish making up the other 25 percent. Affiliate members (Flager, Lander, North Greenville and Spring Hill) are included in the calculations, but do not qualify for the All-Sports Trophy.
