GSC Women's Basketball Weekly Awards: Nov. 28

The Gulf South Conference announced its women's basketball weekly award winners for Week 3 of the 2023 season with games played between November 20-26.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Macey Lee, Jr., G, Union

Lee demonstrated versatility in two weekend games, leading Union to a 2-0 record. In the 109-86 win over Trevecca Nazarene, the junior standout scored 20 points with a 53% shooting accuracy, contributed four rebounds, and provided an assist. In the 84-53 victory against Mississippi College, Lee scored 11 points and secured two rebounds in just 13 minutes of play.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Cali Smallwood, Fr., G/F, Montevallo

Smallwood achieved her first career double-double, leading Montevallo to a 78-67 win over Alabama Huntsville. The freshman scored 16 points on 56% shooting, including four three-pointer. Smallwood also was a force on the glass, recording 11 rebounds to go along with one assist and steal.
