Round Two
Lee maintained its lead through 36 holes at the GSC Women’s Golf Championship on Monday. The Lady Flames followed up their round one 299 with another 299 in the second round.
West Florida made the biggest jump of the day, moving from fourth into second place. The Argonauts improved on their round one 312 with a 294 round two total. West Florida is just eight shots off the lead heading into the final day.
Individually, Lee’s Caroline Moore remained atop the leaderboard shooting two over par, but the sophomore is no longer alone. West Georgia’s Franziska Bremm moved into a tie for the lead with Moore, shooting a 73 for the second straight day.
Lee’s Callie Kitchens, Shorter’s Gracel Peris and West Alabama’s Savannah Payne round out the top five after day two, scoring 75, 73 and 71, respectively.
The tournament concludes on Tuesday with the first groups teeing off at 8:00 am. The presentation of the All-Tournament team and championship trophies will follow directly after the final round.
