UNA sweeps Shorter to advance to GSC title match

PENSACOLA, Fla. – North Alabama swept the Shorter Hawks to earn a berth in the 2016 Gulf South Conference Volleyball Tournament Championship match. It is the third consecutive season the Lions will compete for the GSC title.

NOTABLE
The Lions were led by senior and GSC Player of the Year Natasha Fomina and sophomore setter Jayden Davila-McClary. Fomina led the scoring for UNA with 17 kills and 18 points while Davila-McClary fed the team with 48 assists. Junior Jessica Austin led UNA with a .526 hitting percentage.
UP NEXT
North Alabama will face the top seeded West Florida Argonauts in the GSC Tournament finale. The championship game will be a rematch of last year's conference title. A win for the Lions will make them repeat GSC champions.
The GSC Tournament championship game will be at 1:00 p.m. CT on Sunday, Nov. 20.
