GSC Women's Soccer Weekly Awards: Sept. 8

The second set of 2026 Gulf South Conference Women's Soccer Weekly Awards presented by Athletic Solutions have been announced, based on performances from Aug. 31-Sept. 6.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Eva Hendriks, F, Fr., AUM
  • Scored twice, including the game-winning goal, in AUM's 2-1 victory over Georgia Southwestern, while helping AUM to a 1-0-1 week.
  • Led the Warhawks with seven shots in a 0-0 draw at Tuskegee, and finished the week with 13 total shots, including nine on goal. 
  • Leads the GSC in goals (4), points (9), shots per game (6.75) and shots on goal per game (4.00).

DEFENDER OF THE WEEK
Faith Clark, D, Jr., Mississippi Christian
  • Played 169 minutes during a 2-0 week for Mississippi Christian
  • Anchored the defense in a 1-0 win over Oklahoma Christian while the Choctaws played down a player for 85 minutes.
  • Logged 89 minutes and helped anchor the back line in a 4-2 win at East Central.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
CeCe Szopa, GK, Sr., UAH
  • Made five saves in a 90-minute shutout as UAH defeated No. 15 Tampa, 1-0.
  • The clean sheet was her 10th all-time shutout.
  • Helped UAH earn its first victory at Tampa in 23 years.
  • Earned her second career GSC Goalkeeper of the Week honor

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

  • Leads the GSC in goals (4), points (9), shots per game (6.75) and shots on goal per game (4.00).
  • Earned her first second-consecutive GSC Freshman of the Week honor, and is the first GSC Freshman of the Week to also be named GSC Player of the Week since October 2023.
