BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Mississippi College’s Ellie Fryar, West Alabama’s Eleanor De Block and Lee’s Madison Pinzon garnered 2026 Gulf South Conference Softball Weekly Awards presented by Athletic Solutions, following performances during the week of April 20-26.
GSC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ellie Fryar, INF, Jr., Mississippi College
Fryar hit .615 (6-for-13) and slugged 1.308 helping the Choctaws to series sweep over in-state rival Delta State. The junior infielder also recorded six runs scored, three RBI, three home runs, and two stolen bases.

GSC PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Eleanor De Block, Sr., West Alabama
De Block had three complete game wins to improve to 21-8 on the year. The senior racked up 12 strikeouts across 21.0 innings and posted a 0.33 ERA, allowing one run on 10 hits. Facing 79 total hitters, De Block had a .143 opponent batting average. She finished the week with back-to-back shutouts against UAH, pushing her to 10 on the season, breaking a program record.

GSC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Madison Pinzon, 3B, Lee
Pinzon hit .400 (4-for-10) and slugged 1.600 with four home runs, helping the Lady Flames take two of three games from against Trevecca. The rookie also finished with eight RBI and four runs scored, while drawing two walks. She opened the series with a 2-for-3 performance driving in three runs on two home runs, before notching a grand slam in the finale while going 1-for-4 at the plate.
