BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Lee was selected as the favorite in the 2025 Gulf South Conference Women’s Cross Country Preseason Poll, as determined by the league’s head coaches who were unable to vote for their own team. 

The Lady Flames garnered all 11 possible first-place votes and amassed 121 points as they topped the poll for the 10th consecutive season. UAH followed in second with 108 points, while Mississippi College collected 103 points and one first-place tally. 

The 43rd season of Gulf South Conference women’s cross country will begin Friday, Sept. 5 with nine of 12 teams in action. The 2025 GSC Women’s Cross Country Championship is set for Saturday, Oct. 25 in Memphis, Tenn. The full 2025 GSC schedule can be found here.
