CLEVELAND, Ohio — Ten Gulf South Conference member institutions were among the more than 250 NCAA Division II schools listed in the 2024-25 Learfield Directors’ Cup final standings, as announced by the National Association of Athletic Directors (NACDA).
NACDA RELEASE
STANDINGS: OVERALL / CONFERENCE
The announcement marked the ninth consecutive year and the 10th time since 2010-11 that at least 10 Gulf South institutions recognized.
West Florida led the cohort of GSC members as it ranked 20th overall with 533.50 points. The Argonauts amassed 294.50 points in the spring alone, thanks in part to national title performance from men’s golf and notable runs by baseball and women’s tennis.
Also among the top-30 was Lee University, which checked in at No. 28 as it collected 475 total points. UAH came in at No. 81, while Valdosta State (99th) was almost among the top-100. The list of GSC members also included Mississippi College, Delta State, Montevallo, Auburn Montgomery, Union, and West Alabama.
The Learfield Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships. Overall, 15 sports are counted in the final DII standings, four of which must be women’s volleyball and basketball and men’s basketball and baseball. The next highest (11 max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.
