GSC Quartet Selected for NCAA DII Baseball Championship

INDIANAPOLIS – The 64-team field for the 2025 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship was unveiled Sunday evening during the NCAA Selection Show. Among the teams selected were four Gulf South Conference schools—Delta State, Mississippi College, West Alabama and West Florida.

This will be the second consecutive season that GSC teams were selected to participate and eighth time since 2016 with three or mean teams. Since 2021, GSC members are a combined 19-30,and 325-286 all-time, dating back to 1972. 

West Florida was announced as the No. 3-seed in the South Regional. The Argonauts will make their third consecutive trip and 10th all-time.

Mississippi College will be the No. 4-seed in the South Regional. This is the second-ever appearance NCAA postseason for the Choctaws and their first since 2018. 

Delta State makes its conference-leading 34th NCAA trip and will be the No. 6-seed in the South Region tournament.

West Alabama, who claimed the Gulf South's automatic bid, return to the NCAA postseason for the first time since 2017. The Tigers will be the No. 7-seed in the South Regional as it makes their 10th appearance all-time.

The NCAA Division II Baseball Region Championship will be May 15-18. Four teams will participate in each of the 16 regional sites in a double-elimination. The South Regional will be broken into two four-team brackets. The winner of each bracket then play a best-of-three super regional, May 22-24, with the remaining teams moving onto the NCAA DII Baseball Championship. The double-elimination championship finals are set for May 30-June 7 and will return to the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.
