The Gulf South Conference announced its ninth baseball weekly award winners of the 2025 season for performances between March 24-30. Mississippi College’s JT Vance (player), Delta State’s Logan Eldridge (pitcher), and Union’s Carter Daniel (freshman) were recognized.
Player of the Week:
JT Vance, OF, Sr., Mississippi College
Vance delivered an outstanding offensive performance, accounting for 17 Mississippi College runs last week, scoring eight times while driving in nine more runs. The senior went nine-for-17 (.471) at the plate, posted a .500 OBP, and slugged 1.235. Vance’s standout performance was a 4-for-5 outing against William Carey that featured three home runs, six RBI, and six runs scored. In the conference-series against Valdosta State, he remained consistent, recording a hit in all three games, including a double and his fourth home run of the week while tallying three RBI and scoring twice.

Pitcher of the Week:
Logan Eldridge, RHP, Sr., Delta State
Eldridge improved to 4-2 on the season as he was credited with a 7-1 win over Alabama Huntsville helping Delta State to a series sweep. The senior right-hander went the full nine innings, allowing one run on seven hits and walked two while ringing up eight strikeouts. As a result, Eldridge now boosts a 4.85 season ERA, down a full point from where it was before the performance.

Freshman of the Week:
Carter Daniel, RHP, Fr., Union
In his longest outing of the season, Daniel was credited with a 6-2 win in the series opener at West Alabama over the weekend. The rookie right-hander surrendered just one run on six hits and two walks, while striking out three. He improved to 2-3 on the year, and is the second Union player to earn GSC Freshman of the Week honors since Hudson Cepparulo was recognized on February 4.
