The Gulf South Conference announced its eighth set of women's soccer Player of the Week awardees of the 2025 season, for performances based on matches from October 20-26.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kaitlyn Scherer, Jr., M, Valdosta State

• Earned six points in 180 minutes played to help Valdosta State secure wins against Eckerd and Christian Brothers.
• Scored one goal in her one shot taken in a 3-1 win against Eckerd.
• Registered a brace, with her second goal breaking a 2-2 tie in the 76th-minute, in a 4-2 win at Christian Brothers.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lara Brewis, Sr., D, Montevallo

• Scored her first career goal on two shots taken in a 3-1 win against Spring Hill.
• Helped the Falcons backline hold Spring Hill to only two shots on goal.
• Played 178 minutes as Montevallo went 1-1 on the week and earned three points in GSC play.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Yumari Hernandez, Fr., GK, West Alabama

• Led West Alabama to its seventh straight win and a spot in the GSC postseason with a 2-0 shutout win at UAH.
• Made four saves on 13 shots faced for her 10th clean sheet of the season.
• Earned her third GSC Goalkeeper of the Week award this season.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Ayla Ertekin, Fr., F, Montevallo

• Recorded Montevallo’s lone goal on two shots taken in a 2-1 loss against West Florida.
• Had three shots on frame in the Falcon’s 3-1 win against Spring Hill.
• Earned her third GSC Freshman of the Week award this season.
