BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Gulf South Conference announced its annual baseball preseason squad and top newcomers to watch for the 2025 season. Eighteen names from eight different teams highlighted the preseason lineup.
West Florida, last season’s conference tournament champs, had four honorees as did Trevecca Nazarene for its first season of Gulf South Conference action. Auburn Montgomery, Lee, Mississippi College and Valdosta State had two honorees apiece. Delta State and Montevallo each had one.
The GSC Newcomer Watchlist meanwhile featured 35 student-athletes. Among the 2025 list, there were three freshmen, while 32 names were transfers from outside the GSC with 10 named coming from the Division I ranks.
The GSC preseason baseball team is comprised of the returning student-athletes who earned postseason all-conference accolades the season before. Newcomer names featured were submitted by their respective teams.
The 2025 campaign marks the 54th season of GSC baseball and the debut of Trevecca Nazarene in the Gulf South Conference. Teams will play a round robin three-game conference series schedule that will comprise of 33 matches over 11 weeks.
