BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Gulf South Conference announced its annual baseball preseason selections and top newcomers for the 2025 season. The preseason All-GSC Team was comprised of 15 names and represented eight teams.
Alabama Huntsville led all teams with four honorees. Auburn Montgomery, Mississippi College, West Alabama and West Florida followed with two honorees apiece. Lee, Trevecca Nazarene, Valdosta State each had one.
The GSC Newcomer Watchlist meanwhile featured 30 student-athletes. Among the 2025 list, there were 14 freshmen, while the other 16 names were transfers from outside the GSC with six coming from the Division I or II ranks.
The GSC preseason softball team was determined by the league’s head coaches via an online vote. Newcomer names featured were submitted by their respective teams.
The 2025 campaign marks the 39th season of GSC softball and the first for Trevecca Nazarene as a member of the Gulf South Conference. Teams will play a round robin three-game conference series schedule that will comprise of 33 matches over 11 weeks.
