The Gulf South Conference has announced its first men’s cross country weekly award winners of the 2024 for races during the first week of action from Sept. 2-8.
Runner of the Week
Zach Fenton, Sr., West Florida
Fenton got off to a strong start in the 2024 campaign as he placed third out of 82 runners at the UNA Invitational with a time of 24:37.95. This was the fastest time among all Division II runners at the invitational. The senior’s time placed him third on the all-time list for West Florida in the 8k while also now giving him the top seven fastest times for the program.

Freshman of the Week
Dakota Frank, Fr., Alabama Huntsville
Frank began his collegiate career with a stellar start, winning the Montevallo Twilight Classic with a time of 25:29.22. He finished ahead of the second-place finisher by 13 seconds while helping UAH to finish first in the race overall.
