The Gulf South Conference announced its 2024 women's soccer weekly awards following matches from Oct. 21-27.  
 
Offensive Player of the Week  
Victoria Bahr, Jr., M, Valdosta State

Bahr helped guide Valdosta State to two crucial wins over the week en route to totaling two goals and two shots on net. In a tight battle against Union, Bahr’s first goal of the week proved to be the difference as she scored her lone shot of the night in the 88^th-minute to help the Blazers prevail with a 3-2 victory. The junior continued her active week against Christian Brothers as she opened scoring in the 18^th-minute, and Valdosta State did not look back in a 4-0 shutout win. This is Bahr’s first GSC Offensive Player of the Week honor in 2024.

Defensive Player of the Week  
Katherine Kimmel, Jr., D, Valdosta State

Kimmel played a lead role in a Blazer backline that only conceded two goals on the week as she also recorded a goal, an assist, and two overall shots. To start the week, the junior opened scoring with her third converted penalty kick of the year, which is tied for most in school history, while being a part of a defensive unit that conceded just two goals in a 3-2 win over Union. She would then go on to register an assist and help the Blazers to not allow a single goal as Valdosta State shut out Christian Brothers 4-0.

Goalkeeper of the Week  
Abby Whitcomb, Jr., GK, Lee

Whitcomb only conceded one goal and made eight saves on 18 shots faced as she collected her first GSC Goalkeeper of the Week award this season. In a 2-0 shutout victory over Delta State, the junior recorded her fifth shutout of the season while also making four saves on 10 shots faced. She then followed this up by conceding a single goal and making four more saves in a 3-1 win against Mississippi College. Whitcomb is now third in the conference with a .846 goals against average.

Freshman of the Week  
Maria Rojas, Fr., M, Valdosta State

Rojas earned her first-career GSC Freshman of the Week honor after a week that saw her score her fourth goal of the season along with having one shot on net. The freshman played an active part in Valdosta State’s tight 3-2 victory over Union before making her impact felt offensively with the Blazers’ second goal of the match in a 4-0 shutout win over Christian Brothers. Rojas’ four goals on the year is tied for the team lead.
