The Gulf South Conference announced its 2024 women's soccer weekly awards following matches from Oct. 7-13.
Offensive Player of the Week
Isabela Labovic, Sr., M, West Florida
Labovic put together a strong offensive week with a goal, two assists, and four shots on goal to help the Argos to two conference victories. On West Florida’s Senior Day, the senior opened scoring in the 22
nd-minute with her first goal of the season before assisting on a helper in the 30
th-minute to give the Argos a 3-0 win over Valdosta State. She then assisted on West Florida’s second goal in a 2-1 victory over AUM as well as putting two shots on net to seal an undefeated week.

Defensive Player of the Week
Lola Martinez, Fr., D, Montevallo
Martinez earned her second career GSC Defensive Player of the Week award after a week that saw her help Montevallo to a pair of shutout victories. Against Mississippi College, the Falcons did not give up a single shot on goal in part because of the freshman’s play in a 2-0 win. Then, Martinez was part of a backline that allowed five shots on net and preserved a 1-0 victory over Delta State.

Goalkeeper of the Week
Emily Hounsell, Gr., GK, Montevallo
Hounsell did not allow a single goal and recorded five saves on 16 shots faced as the graduate earned a second GSC Goalkeeper of the Week award in as many weeks. The graduate started the week with a fifth-shutout win of the season over Mississippi College before making five saves on 11 shots faced in a 1-0 nailbiter win over Delta State. Hounsell now has six shutouts on the season along with a 0.727 goals against average.

Freshman of the Week
Anna Dandeneau, Fr., M, Valdosta State
Dandeneau reeled in her first GSC Freshman of the Week award for her career after compiling her first career assist and two shots on goal. The freshman was on the attack against Spring Hill as she assisted on the opening goal of the match in the seventh-minute before registering two shots on net in a 4-0 shutout victory, Valdosta’s first win in GSC play this season.
