MOBILE, Ala. — After a delayed start due to wet weather, first round action of the 2023 GSC Men’s Golf Championship is in the books from the Robert Trent Jones Trail at Magnolia Grove.
CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL
Shorter topped the team standings by three strokes as it shot a combined 286 in round one. The Hawks closed day one with four golfers among the top-15, as they were led by Issac MacNaughton who finished in second with 68 four-under par.
Tied for second was West Florida and Lee as both teams shot a 289. Rounding out the top five was Mississippi College and Union as they shared fourth-place after shooting 293.

Lee’s Oliver Lewis-Perkins is the frontrunner on the individual leaderboard after shooting a 67 five-under par, while MacNaughton from Shorter follows in second. The top-five was rounded out with a three-way tie for third as Mississippi College’s JJ Logue, Montevallo’s Eric Boutwell and Christian Brothers’ Matt Nicell each carded a 70 in the opening round.
