The Gulf South Conference announced its volleyball weekly award winners for Week 10 of the 2023 season with matches played between October 30-November 5.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lydia Paulette, Jr., MB, Mississippi College
Paulette led Mississippi College to a 2-1 week as she had a team-high 33 kills behind 77 swings to hit .273 for the week. The junior middle averaged 3.67 kills and 13.0 points per set. She also finished with three assists, three service aces, 21 digs and six total blocks.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sloane FitzHenry, Sr., MB, Mississippi College
FitzHenry had a string of notable performances at the net logging 13 blocks in nine sets to help Mississippi College go 2-1 on the week. The senior opened the week with four blocks against West Florida, before tallying six against Union and three versus Christian Brothers. As a result, she moved up the Choctaw record book in total blocks and blocks per set.

CO-FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Desha Van Veldhuizen, Fr., S, West Georgia &
Mary Grace Bundrant, Fr., MB, Alabama Huntsville
Veldhuizen averaged 8.17 assists per set as West Georgia went 2-1 and clinched a spot in GSC postseason tournament. The rookie hit the 30-assist mark in all three matches including a 35-assist outing in a five-set victory over Shorter. Her weekly ledger also included four kills, two aces and 21 digs.
Bundrant played a key role in assisting Alabama Huntsville to a 2-0 week, after the rookie logged 11 total blocks in eight sets, averaging 1.38 stops per frame. She opened the with a six-block performance against Lee before adding five more against Montevallo. Bundrant also finished the week hitting .367 with 14 kills.
