OVERVIEW
Several GSC teams traveled to Florence, Ala., and dominated the UNA Invitational. Both Montevallo's men and women finished and placed second. Not far behind was Auburn Montgomery's men who placed third and women who placed fourth. Following closely was West Florida's men who placed fourth and women who placed third.
MEETS ON TAP
- Both teams from Mississippi College and Lee are headed to Huntsville, Ala., to compete at the North Alabama Showcase.
- Montevallo is hosting both teams from West Georgia and Union as well as the Delta State women for the Falcon Classic.
- On Saturday both teams from Valdosta State will be in Tallahassee, Fla.
- Both teams from Christian Brothers will be traveling to Memphis for the Rhodes Invite.
WEEKLY AWARDS
Montevallo swept the Runner of the Week honors as
Joe Leventry won it on the men's side while
Courtney Keeler claimed it for the women. West Florida meanwhile earned top freshman accolades as
Nathan Deboutez and
Chloe Rook respectively took home men's and women's recognition.
NATIONAL RANKINGS
The Gulf South Conference had four teams and three schools named in the USTFCCCA poll. On the men's side No.11 Lee, No. 16 Alabama Huntsville and No. 18 Mississippi College. On the women's side, Lee is the lone GSC member to be ranked at No. 10.
GSC CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2022 Gulf South Conference Cross Country Championships will run the course on the campus of Montevallo on November 5. Fans unable to attend will be able to watch all the action exclusively on FloTrack.
