Two Teams Garner NABC Academic Awards
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the 2021-22 Academic Award recipients.

As a leagues, the Gulf South Conference had a total of nine men's basketball names from two member institutions earn 2021-22 NABC Honors Court recognition. Christian Brothers led the way with five student-athletes (
Aiden Ruthsatz,
Dom Tomich,
Nick Diefel,
Opong Bramble and
Slate Garmany), while Union had four honorees (
Caleb Pearce,
Dusan Dordevic,
JC Hawkins,
Mikail Simmons).
CBU was also awarded the Team Academic Excellence Award.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men’s basketball programs that completed the 2021-22 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men’s basketball players who finished the 2021-22 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
