13 Players Named to NCBWA All-Region Team
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Thirteen Gulf South Conference baseball players earned South All-Region honors as announced by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). The selections were highlighted with more than half of the GSC's team represnted and eight first team honorees.

Montevallo led the conference with three selections, all first team picks, while Alabama Huntsville, Delta State and Valdosta State each had two honorees. Shorter, Union and West Alabama were also represented with one selection apiece.
GSC Pitcher of the Year and Shorter ace Jonathan Pintaro earned First Team All-Region honors along with Montevallo's Sam Kuchinski who was the league's co-Player of the Year. Also earning a first team nod was Valdosta State's Elijah Gill (SP), Montevallo's Jake Smallwood (C) and Reed Latimer (OF), Delta State's Jake Barlow (2B), Alabama Huntsville's Garrett Bodine (OF), and Union's Grayson Swanson (DH).
The second team featured Lee's Jack Nedrow (SP), Valdosta State's EJ Doskow (1B), Delta State's Carson Clowers (SS), and West Alabama's Josh Bower (DH). Nedrow was the league's top freshman in 2022, while Doskow was co-Player of the Year.
Also recognized was Alabama Huntsville third baseman Landon Ezzell.
First Team honorees move on to the NCBWA All-America ballot, which will be released on June 2.
