24 Earn D2CCA Football All-Region Accolades
VALDOSTA, Ga. — The 2021 Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA) Football All-Region Team was announced Thursday morning.

West Florida’s Austin Reed headlined the crop of Gulf South Conference representatives, as the sophomore quarterback was named the region’s Offensive Player of the Year. The GSC Offensive Player of the Year and Harlon Hill Trophy finalist finished the season as the league leader in yards (3,418) and touchdowns (38), while averaging 16.4 yards per completion.
Collectively, the league accounted for nearly half of the region’s overall selections, as 24-of-51 honorees represented four of GSC’s eight football playing members.
Valdosta State led all teams with 13 selections, highlighted by five first team accolades. West Florida had seven overall selections and four first team nods, while two of three West Georgia names were first teamers. West Alabama rounded out the order with one selection.
The teams were voted on by the region’s sports information directors. The region’s first team honorees will now advance to the national ballot, eligible for D2CCA All-America honors.
