Player of the Week: Michael Cole, F - Valdosta State
Cole recorded a dominating season-high 29 points in Valdosta State's Tuesday night win against Clayton State, 92-79. He shot 76.5 percent from the field on 13 of 17 shooting. Cole picked up nine rebounds, two assists and one block while shooting three of four on free throws during the game. Cole is leading the Blazers with 20.3 points per game and 10 rebounds per game through the team's first three games. Cole is also the only Gulf South player averaging a double-double early in the season.

Freshman of the Week: Dane Harding, G - Alabama Huntsville
Harding scored 12 points on 66 percent shooting from behind the three-point line in Alabama Huntsville's win over Fisk on Sunday. The freshman was also strong on the glass as he pulled down five rebounds against Columbus State and six more boards against Fisk. Harding also has the second-best assist-to-turnover ratio on the team with 2.67 assists between turnovers.
