BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Throughout this fall, the Gulf South Conference has sponsored the SAAC Monthly Speaker series in lieu of this year’s GSC SAAC summer meeting.  The conference has brought in a different speaker via Zoom to provide expertise on certain topics and give professional advice to the SAAC representatives.  On December 3rd,  Brandon Gossett of Neverthirst will share about the water crisis and how the GSC has played a vital role in combating that.

Gossett is the Chief Development Officer for Neverthirst, an organization that he has been a part of since 2012.  Neverthirst partners with churches, businesses, families, gyms, and individuals to provide access to clean water for those who need it the most. Currently, the Birmingham-based organization has sponsored 17,609 projects and served 754,350 people in seven countries.

The GSC’s partnership with Neverthirst began with the 2015 GSC Basketball Championships. Through the partnership, clean water wells have been built in India at the conclusion of each postseason.

“We are excited to have Brandon Gossett join us for our SAAC Monthly Speaker series,” Commissioner Matt Wilson said.  “We have partnered with Neverthirst for years, and we look forward to him sharing with our SAAC student-athletes how they can help solve the water crisis.”

“It’s an honor to be able to share with this group of students how they can be a part of something bigger than themselves,”  Gossett stated. “This generation is passionate about changing the world, and leaders like the SAAAC of GSC can play a role in being influential amongst their peers. The whole world knows about the pandemic, but a lot of people here are completely unaware of the fact that the world water crisis is the largest crisis in the world and kills more people daily than the virus and other diseases like malaria.”
