2019 MEN'S GOLF ALL-GSC TEAMS

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.
 – The Gulf South Conference has announced the 2019 men’s golf all-conference awards, as voted on by the league’s coaches. Delta State’s Zach Zediker has been named the GSC Golfer of the Year. West Georgia’s Lucas Mota has been named the GSC Freshman of the Year, while West Florida’s Steve Fell has been named GSC Coach of the Year.

Zediker is the first Delta State golfer to earn the league’s top honor since Kevin Jones in 2004. He won this year’s GSC Men’s Golf Championship by five strokes, becoming the fifth golfer in league history to win multiple medalist honors, and the fourth to do it back-to-back years. This is also the second straight season that he is a First Team All-GSC selection. The junior had four wins this season, finishing with a stroke average of 69.70 and a low round of 65.

Mota is the third West Georgia golfer to be named the league’s top freshman. Mota was a two-time GSC Freshman of the Month this season and was also the league’s only freshman to be named all-conference this season. His 72.71 scoring average ranked seventh overall in the GSC, and he won the first tournament of his collegiate career with his six-under par performance at the Montevallo Invitational.

Fell led the Argos to the 17th GSC Men’s Golf Championship in program history, and it’s also the seventh straight season that the Argos have won the league’s team title. This is the 16th time in his career that Fell has been named the GSC Coach of the Year, the most of any men’s golf coach in the league’s history.
