DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
J.T. Hassell Florida Tech
Tackles: 19 // Forced Fumble: 1
Notes: Hassell, a 2017 All-GSC selection, had 19 tackles in the FIT win over Newberry. Hassell is the first GSC player since 2015 to record at least 19 tackles in a game. He is the first Panther to win this award since his teammate Adonis Davis won the honor last season.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Christian Saulsberry West Alabama
95-Yard Kickoff Return TD
Notes: Saulsberry opened the game with an electric touchdown for Tigers, going 95 yards for the score in the win against Miles. He also had six receptions and a pair of TDs on the offensive end. Former UWA star returner Donta Armstrong won this award in 2016.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Gaskin recorded the first sack of his career on the first drive of the game.
