Lee Wins Second Straight GSC Women's Cross Country Championship

FINAL RESULTS
CLINTON, Miss. - For the second straight season, Lee has won the GSC Women's Cross Country Championship.
Lee's
Chloe Flora won the race and earned GSC Runner of the Year honors. Flora was named GSC Runner of the Week three times this season, and she is the second Lee runner to win this meet in three years (Audrey Smith, 2016).
The Lady Flames was the championship with 46 points, which is the lowest point total in the meet since 2012. All five runners who placed for Lee were named All-GSC, finishing 1st, 4th, 10th, 12th, and 19th.
UAH finished second with 65 points. The Chargers matched Lee with three First Team All-GSC honorees. This is the second straight year that Alabama Huntsville has finished second in the league.
Union finished third in the meet. The Lady Bulldogs have finished in the top four every season since joining the GSC in 2014.

In addition to the second straight team championship, Lee's
Caleb Morgan was named GSC Coach of the Year for the second straight season.
As the top finishing freshman, UAH's
Kaylee Stewart, a two-time GSC Freshman of the Week, was named GSC Freshman of the Year.
The regional meets will take place in two weeks on Saturday, November 17. The South Region's Championship will take place at Florida Southern in Lakeland, Florida. The top three teams from each region will advance to the NCAA Championship, and then 10 teams will earn at-large selection, for a total of 34 teams.
Additionally, the top two individual finishers in each region not associated with a qualifying team will advance to the national meet. Any top five finisher not associated with a qualifying team will automatically move on. Eight at-large individuals will then be selected to round out the field.
