LIVE RESULTS - MEN

The GSC Golf Championships will tee off Sunday morning from Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga. Both the men and the women will take the course starting at 8:00 a.m. ET. The final pairings will hit the course at 10:06 for the women and 10:51 for the men.

The GSC is once again a powerhouse on the men’s side, boasting three of the top seven teams in the country (West Florida, Lee, and North Alabama). UWF has been the number one team in Division II for the majority of the season.

The final pairing to tee off for the men Sunday morning will be West Florida’s Chandler Blanchet, Lee’s Shea Sylvester, and North Alabama’s Forrest Knight. Those three are the top three ranked golfers in the league. They three have combined for eight tournament wins this season and none of them have a stroke average above par. All three were named to the GSC All-Tournament Team in 2016.

Blanchet is the defending GSC Tournament Champion and the reigning GSC Golfer of the Year.

Last season, West Florida defeated Lee in a playoff round. These three teams have been dominant over the years, and either UWF, Lee, or UNA has claimed the top spot in every GSC Tournament since 2005.

On the women’s side, West Florida is looking to claim its sixth straight conference crown. The Argonauts defeated Lee by just a single stroke in 2016.

Last year, West Georgia’s Franziska Bremm was named the GSC Freshman of the Year and the GSC Player of the Year. She was also the tournament medalist. Bremm returns this year to defend her crown and will be in the final pair to tee off, along with West Florida’s Paloma Vaccaro and Lee’s Sam Burrus. Both Vaccaro and Burrus were First Team All-GSC in 2016.

West Alabama will be looking to contend with the top trifecta of teams and will be led by three-time all-conference selection Savannah Payne.
