Lee edges UWF for first GSC Tournament win
PENSACOLA, Fla. – The most hotly contested quarterfinal pairing during the regular season didn’t disappoint Tuesday, as fifth-seed Lee University edged No. 4 West Florida, 63-62, in the 2015-16 VisitSpaceCoast.com Gulf South Conference quarterfinals. Lee’s Erin Walsh led the way with 26 points.

KEY MOMENTS
West Florida used a 13-0 to end the first quarter, but Lee battled back in the second half. An Erin Walsh 3-pointer with 3:57 to play in the third quarter gave Lee its first lead since midway in the first quarter. Shelby Brown later hit a 3 with 1:33 left in the game to tie the score, 59-59, and then Walsh hit four free throws in the final minute, including two with 11 seconds remaining. UWF’s Alex Coyne missed a potential game-winning shot at the buzzer.

-Lee wins its first-ever GSC Tournament game played.
