KEY MOMENT
Tanner Rainey turned in a huge performance, pacing West Alabama at the plate. The senior launched three homers and had five RBI. His three bombs in the game are good for a tie for second all-time in GSC tournament history. He also became just the fourth player in GSC history to hit four homeruns in a single GSC tournament. He closed this year's tournament hitting .417 (5-for-12) with four homeruns, a double and seven RBI. He also got it done on the mound, collecting a win and a save, while allowing no runs on no hits with three strikeouts.
QUOTABLE
"I don't know if I have the words to explain how I feel right now," Said UWA Head Coach Gary Rundles. "I kind of teared up there at the end. I know I am very excited and couldn't be more pleased with our group of young men. This is a very good ball club and I am very proud of them."
NOTABLE
The victory marks the third all-time GSC Baseball Tournament Championship for West Alabama, its first since 2005.
