All-GSC Women's Basketball Accolades Announced

Birmingham, Ala.—The Gulf South Conference is pleased to announce its All-GSC Women’s Basketball Team and yearly honors for the 2014-15 season.
Seven different GSC teams landed at least one student-athlete each on the postseason list, led by
Delta State, which turned in a league-leading three All-GSC members. Both DSU and
Union had two First Teamers each and
West Georgia had one. Earning Second Team recognition were players from
West Florida,
West Alabama,
North Alabama,
Christian Brothers and DSU.
AMY PHILAMLEE CROWNED GSC PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Union senior
Amy Philamlee (Lithonia, Ga.) led the GSC and the nation in scoring (24.1 points-per-game) and was second in all of NCAA Division II in assists-per-game (8.2). She earned GSC Player of the Week a conference-leading five times, TSWA Player of the Week four times and USBWA National Player of the Week honors in a week in which she scored 75 points with 20 assists over two games, including a 42-point, 14-assist outburst on UU's Senior Night versus North Alabama.
TONI BREWER GARNERED FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR
West Florida forward
Toni Brewer (Huntsville, Ala.) averaged 12.4 points-per-game with 9.0 rebounds-per-game in 2014-15. She racked up nine double-doubles and led all student-athletes with an astounding seven weekly honors, all GSC Freshman of the week accolades. Her career-highs amassed this season were 25 points against Arkansas-Monticello (11/28/14) and 19 boards versus Alabama Huntsville (1/24/15).
MARK CAMPBELL TABBED COACH OF THE YEAR
Union head coach
Mark Campbell, in his first season in the conference, led his squad to a 23-3 mark, including 19-3 in GSC play. The Bulldogs earned both the GSC Regular Season Title and the top-seed for the GSC Tournament. Campbell earned his 500th-career coaching victory this season with a 77-66 win over Valdosta State on 2/12/15.
