Danville, Ala. — First-year Gulf South Conference member
Lee University captured its first GSC Championship Saturday, winning the Gulf South Conference Men’s Cross Country Championship at the Oakville Indian Mounds Cross Country Course. Lee is the fourth school in GSC history to win the men’s cross country championship in its first year of eligibility in the sport. The other three are Troy (1971), Northwestern Louisiana (1972) and Harding (2008). It is Lee’s third team win of the season, its first season eligible for NCAA Division II postseason.
