UAH Falls In NCAA Men's Basketball Regional Final
GSC Regular Season Champion Alabama-Huntsville saw its season end earlier than expected, falling at Florida Southern in the South Region Titile Game, 90-88.
UAH seemed to have the game in control with 46 seconds left, but FSC stole the ball and knotted matters at 88-88 with 29 ticks on the clock. The Chargers could not post the go-ahead score and overtime seemed eminate until UAH was called for a foul on the end bound play resulting in a pair of go-ahead free throws by the Mocs.
GSC Freshman of the Year Wayne Dedrick poured-in a game-high 27 points, while
senior Zane Campbell added 24 points and a game-best 12 rebounds.
Guard Jaime Smith netted 13 points and dished out game-high seven assists.
The loss snapped Alabama-Huntsville's eight-game Regional winning streak and stopped the GSC's streak of Elite Eight appearances at seven.
