UWF’s first three Division II National Championships came under Berg’s watch: Men’s Golf (2001), Men’s Tennis (2004, 2005). In 19 years as AD, Berg saw UWF claim 41 GSC Championships, eight All-Sports Trophies and three Commissioner’s trophy winners. Grew department from nine teams and a $500,000 budget to 13 teams and a $3 million budge. In conjunction with the City of Pensacola, Berg led the winning bid to host the first NCAA Division II National Championship Fall Festival in 2006. UWF would go on to host 10 more national championships during his tenure. Already a member of the UWF Athletics Hall of Fame (2010), Dowling College Athletics Hall of Fame (2000) and Pensacola Sports Association Hall of Fame (1998).
