Eyster was a four-year starter for Delta State football and a member of the GSC Team of the Decade (2000-09). The former quarterback’s career numbers see him as the conference’s all-time leader in passing yards (13,889), total offensive yards (14,319) and passing touchdowns (128), which also have him among the NCAA top 15 in each category at the time of his induction. Eyster’s athletic laurels included three All-America selections, GSC Freshman of the Year in 2003, and the league’s top offensive honors in 2005 and 2006. He was also a 2007 recipient of GSC Commissioner Trophy for his all-around effort on the field and in the classroom.
