  • The winningest football coach in UNA (126) and Gulf South Conference (152) history.
  • Has spent 40-total years in college football, coaching since taking a position as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Mississippi State, in 1976.
  • Won 171-total games in 28 seasons as a collegiate head coach.
  • Has already been inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame (2004), the NCAA Division II Football Hall of Fame (2010) and the University of North Alabama Athletic Hall of Fame (2011).

  • He is tied for the most championships by any coach in NCAA Division II's 39-year history, with three National Championships in 1993, 1994 and 1995.
  • His 1993-95 National Championship teams combined for a 41-1 record, making Wallace the first coach in collegiate football history to win as many as 40 games in just three seasons.
  • His three-consecutive championships (1993-95) also made UNA the first school in the history of NCAA scholarship football to win three-straight national titles.
  • He made 10 playoff appearances in 15 years at UNA, including 11 of 20 in the Gulf South Conference.

  • With 20-total NCAA Division II postseason wins, he ranks second all-time.
  • He also revived the football program at West Alabama. In five seasons, from 2006-10, he led the Tigers to three winning seasons, including the school's first NCAA postseason appearance since 1975.
  • To this day, Wallace and his 1995 team, is the only NCAA Division II program to have been invited to the White House.
