Recipient of the 1994 Harlon Hill Trophy. Set 13 GSC and 17 NCAA Division II records. Garnered 1993 and 1994 GSC Commissioner’s Trophy honors. Two-time All-America in 1993 and 1994. Honored by the NCAA as a Top Eight Award winner in 1994. Was an NFF Postgraduate Scholarship Winner and dubbed the CoSIDA Academic All-America National Player of the Year in 1994. Named to the 1990-99 GSC Team of the Decade, 1971-95 GSC Team of the Quarter Century and earned the honor of being named the 1971-95 Offensive Player of the Quarter Century. Inducted into the Division II Football Hall of Fame upon first year of eligibility. Coached VSU to the 2004 NCAA Division II National Championship and also collected three GSC Championships (2000-02). Named GSC Coach of the Year three times, National Coach of the Year twice and was the GSC Coach of the Decade for 2000-09. Holds the GSC record for career winning percentage, with 86.4, and is fifth all-time in coaching victories, with 76.
