Valdosta State forward Josh Sparks (SR, 6-9, 195, Savannah, GA) earns his second award in three weeks and third honor in his career after posting the first triple-double in the GSC this season in VSU’s lone contest of the week.
The senior led the Blazers to their second win over in-state, in-region rival Fort Valley State in as many weeks, 82-66. The Savannah, GA native registered the first triple-double in school history in just 34 minutes of action thanks to game-high totals of 23 points, 15 rebounds and 10 blocks. Sparks’ 10 blocks were also the highest total in the league this year and marked the fourth best all-time single-game number.
