Ballentine had a solid start to the season as she hit .450 (9-for-20) at the plate with three runs batted in and two doubles to help the Chargers go 4-2 during the first weekend of action. In addition to starting all six games, the rookie scored six runs and reached base safely in each game, while defensively tallying 25 putouts and posting a 1.000 fielding percentage. In her collegiate debut, Ballentine went 1-for-3, drew a walk and touched home twice in a 7-2 win at Barry. Her highlight performance of the weekend though was a 3-for-4 showing which included double and one run scored as the Chargers downed Barry 8-6 in the series finale.
