Benichou Blanchard went 7-0 on the week to win his first GSC Player of the Week honor this season. On court one singles, the sophomore started the week with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Montevallo’s Paul Sobich before rattling off wins against Spring Hill’s Tom Gutermann (6-3, 6-1), Delta State’s 66th-ranked Hector Ortiz (6-1, 6-1), and Lee’s 47th-ranked Wihan van der Merwe (6-4, 6-1). The Frenchman was not done there, however, as he and partner Rafael Sabio would go 3-0 on line two doubles with wins over Montevallo’s Dylan Kamel and Luiz Brandao (6-4), Spring Hill’s Gutermann and Hugo Blasco Granell (6-2), and capped the week off with a win over Lee’s 12th-ranked Quinn Groenendijk and Jip Langerhuizen (7-6).
