Sorrells made Gulf South Conference history as she now holds the record for most women’s basketball GSC Freshman of the Week honors in a single season with eight. The freshman averaged 13.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and a block in two games for Montevallo. She began the week with a stellar showing against Mississippi College where she dropped 17 points on 64 percent shooting while pulling down three boards, grabbing two steals, and swatting two shots. The Hamilton, Ala. native would not be done there as she recorded 10 points, four boards, an assist, and a steal in a 50-48 thriller win over Delta State.
