Sorrells earned her first-career GSC Freshman of the Week award after averaging 12 points, 7.5 rebounds, and two steals in a 2-0 week for Montevallo. The freshman got off to a solid start as she provided a spark off the bench in a 67-59 win over Lee with 10 points on 44 percent shooting along with five rebounds and a steal. She then topped that performance the following game as she dropped her first double-double this season with 14 points and 10 rebounds in a 57-40 win over Trevecca Nazarene. She also had three steals, a block, and an assist in the victory.
